Anker Ljunggren, born March 27, 1906 in Østre Toten, Norway, disappeared in the autumn of 1935 while in the vicinity of Craik or Craven, Saskatchewan. He had immigrated to Arcola, Saskatchewan in 1927, married a fellow Norwegian immigrant in 1929 and was the father of four children when he left. Sometimes using the surname Johannesson, he was employed as a farmhand in Yellow Grass and was reportedly heading north in search of work when he vanished without a trace.
Key details are scarce: the exact date in October is not stated and the clothing he wore that day is unknown. Official files remain open, and the circumstances of his disappearance have never been resolved. Does anyone have family knowledge or local memories that might shed light on what happened to Anker?
