Has anyone looked into weather conditions on November 6, 1968? I can’t stop wondering if Robert J. Lessard ran into unexpected trouble on the Ottawa River because of sudden weather changes. Back in the late 60s, forecasting wasn’t as advanced as today, so it's possible he didn't have all the information needed to prepare for rough weather. A cold, windy surprise could easily make navigating the river in a small boat much more dangerous. If anyone has access to historical weather data or can point to resources where we might find this info, it could offer some insight into what might have gone wrong that day.
