There’s something so tragic about Breion’s case that just stays with me. Living in Chicago and then visiting Burlington, only to meet such a violent end, is heart-wrenching. I can’t help but think about his family and friends waiting for him back home with no idea of the tragedy that would unfold. I've read that Burlington experienced a series of violent events during that time, and it’s almost like Breion got caught in a storm that wasn’t meant for him. It makes me wonder how these communities are addressing the surge in violence and what measures, if any, are being implemented to prevent such senseless acts. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved him. What a devastating loss. If anyone from the area has updates on how the town is coping or things have changed since then, I’d be really interested to hear.
