I've been following the case of Marshall Wheeler Holmes for quite some time, and it's one that truly stirs the imagination. A detail that's been on my mind is his love for the wilderness. It makes me wonder, could his knowledge and comfort with the outdoors have somehow aided in his disappearance? Maybe he stumbled upon something or someone he wasn't supposed to encounter, or perhaps he got injured and couldn't find his way back despite his bushcraft skills. It's certainly perplexing given that he'd always returned before. I've been thinking about situations where people familiar with certain terrains suddenly go missing without a trace. Could the comfort he found in those woods have been his undoing, as strange as it sounds? The fact that someone could vanish so suddenly in a familiar environment without leaving a single clue is something that sticks with you. What do you all think?
