Has anyone else been following the Aleah Rose Johnson case? I can't stop thinking about the vigil held for her last year. It was such a powerful moment for the community. Despite the tragedy, seeing everyone come together to remember Aleah and support her family showed how much she meant to those who knew her. What's been weighing on my mind is the impact this has had on the local community in Windsor Heights and Des Moines. It really makes you think about the ripple effects of violence—not just the immediate loss but the long-lasting trauma for those left behind. I hope this case sparks more conversations around preventing violence and supporting victims' families. If anyone attended the vigil or knew Aleah personally, I'd love to hear your thoughts on how the community can heal and what steps can be taken to prevent more tragedies like this from happening. Sending love and strength to all who knew and loved Aleah.
