Glenn Harold Field, described as an experienced outdoorsman in his early sixties, disappeared from the Rolfe Lake area of the Northwest Territories after spending the winter of 2018–19 living off the land. He chartered a plane to the remote lakeshore with his three German Shepherds and was last seen in spring 2019 when a pilot spotted him on the west side of Rolfe Lake.
When no contact came in the spring and summer of 2019, concern grew and the RCMP were notified in October 2019. An aerial inspection of his camp found the site packed up neatly: tent poles laid out and no garbage left behind, but nothing to show when he left or where he went. Summer 2020 searches recovered some equipment but not Field, his grey canoe, or his dogs. Official search operations ended in September 2020, and no foul play was suspected; his brother believes he likely died while travelling toward Great Slave Lake.
Does anyone have information about Field’s movements around Rolfe Lake in spring 2019 or sightings of a grey canoe and three German Shepherds in that area?
