It's been haunting me how little information there is about Dale Eldridge's friends who accompanied him to the river that night. Were they ever questioned thoroughly? You'd think someone would have seen or heard something if a group of them went down to the river. I'm curious if the authorities ever considered them as key eyewitnesses. Considering the close-knit nature of smaller communities, I wonder if there's more known behind the scenes than what's been publicly shared.
In cases this old, it sometimes feels like people in the community might have crucial pieces of the puzzle but are afraid to come forward for various reasons. Has there ever been any local outreach encouraging them to speak up? With how long it's been, I often think that someone, somewhere must know something that could finally bring some clarity to Dale's family and the Peace River community.

Good point , the friends were treated as key witnesses early on and the RCMP’s case file is still active, with the national Canada’s Missing profile for Dale asking anyone with information to contact Peace River RCMP. I also found a recent reposting of his case on a cold-cases blog in 2026, which suggests people are still trying to keep his story in front of the public 🙏. If anyone around Peace River remembers that night or those who went down to the river, passing that information to the RCMP could still help the investigation.
