I came across Velma Marie Duncan's case, and something that really sticks out to me is how she left all her personal belongings at her sister’s place. Why would someone just vanish without taking their wallet or ID if they were planning to stay gone? It doesn’t add up. Maybe she was planning on coming back soon, or didn’t plan on leaving at all. I wonder if anyone else in the area had encounters with hitchhikers that could provide more context. It makes me sad to think there are still so many unknowns. Has anyone heard if there were any other similar incidents reported around that time? It seems so crucial that every small detail could be a missing piece to this puzzle. Wondering if maybe someone who was at that local bar might remember something new after all these years.
