Hey everyone, I've been following Johan Louis DeGooyer's case for quite a while and can’t stop thinking about the Lake Ontario aspect of it. I wonder if anyone's dived into more detailed weather reports or water conditions from that day? I mean, if Johan was indeed the person spotted in the canoe, could unexpected weather changes have been a factor? A sudden storm or strong currents might've made it difficult for him to control the canoe if he was out on the lake. It's also intriguing (but frustratingly unclear) how close to the shore the canoe was, or how far Johan might've planned to paddle. Does anyone have insight on how common canoeing was in that area back then, or if there were any reported incidents around that time? Sometimes those small details get overlooked but could provide some clarity on what might've happened that day. Let's keep brainstorming; maybe there's something we haven't considered yet.

I've been following the Johan Louis DeGooyer case for a while now, and something that's perplexed me is the role the canoe sighting plays in piecing together his disappearance. If the witnesses are accurate and a man fitting Johan's description was seen paddling around Lake Ontario, it raises more questions. Could he have had an accident that went unnoticed, or is it possible he intended to travel somewhere specific? The lack of specific details about the time of the sighting or the canoe itself leaves so much to speculation. It puzzles me that there's no mention of anyone finding a canoe, whether washed ashore or otherwise. Did it just vanish along with Johan? The area must have been scoured thoroughly, but the absence of such a significant item and any of Johan’s personal effects baffles me. If anyone out there has seen even an old, seemingly unrelated article or a historical document that might shed light on another missing canoe from that period, it might be worth digging up. There's a lot that remains a mystery in this case, and I'm hoping there's someone with that missing piece of information. It's been so long, but even a seemingly small detail might help connect the dots and lead his family to the answers they deserve.
