I am his wife and I can't begin to express how difficult it's for me, for my family and especially for Grandson who has no memory of his Papi 'Cuy', we have shown him through pictures how much he was loved and how close their bond was and we reminded each other that he's always with us including his family. We have all struggled in our way to move forward. I've had the most difficult time trying to completely move forward while not I struggle to feel completely safe not only in my community including anywhere I , but then again that's also part of the Trauma.

I've been following Cutberto "Cuy" Gastelum's case, and I can't help but wonder about the impact on his community. It's deeply unsettling to think that someone was taken from their doorstep due to gun violence. In reading about the memorials and tributes, I see a community trying to grapple with yet another loss. It's a stark reminder of just how frequent and personal these tragedies are for those living nearby. Seeing how the neighborhood has faced several incidents like this hits hard. It must be so tough for the residents, especially those who knew Cuy personally. I hope that his family and friends are finding support in one another during such a difficult time. It's crucial for the community to come together, not only to honor those we've lost but also to push for changes that could prevent future losses. What more can we do to support efforts that address these issues?
