I recently came across this case of Denis Beauchamp while browsing old missing persons cases, and something really struck me. Denis's story happened all the way back in the spring of 1977, and yet it feels so immediate. What caught my attention was the personal conflict Denis had been dealing with. I wonder just how much that dispute with Denis's boyfriend might have had to do with everything that followed. Since Denis took refuge at a sister's place, it seems that they were seeking some comfort or space from whatever was troubling them. It really makes me think about the pressures and emotional burdens someone in Denis's situation might have been carrying back then. I'm curious if anyone has looked into whether there was any communication from that boyfriend post-disappearance or what his perspective might have been? Sometimes those closest to the person before they vanish hold a key piece of the puzzle, inadvertently or otherwise. And that detail about Denis being known to dye their hair blond, it's interesting how something seemingly small like a hair color can impact how someone is perceived and possibly complicate how cases are handled, especially in the 70s. Does anyone else think that this aspect might have influenced how the investigation was approached?
