It’s truly tragic that such violence erupted at an event meant to bring joy and support to the community. I’ve been thinking a lot about how it must have felt for the bystanders who attempted to save Andrew. These brave individuals didn’t hesitate to jump in and perform chest compressions, trying desperately to offer support and keep hope alive. It’s easy to talk about what we’d do in an emergency, but to actually be put to the test like that and act so selflessly is commendable. I can't imagine the emotional toll it must take on someone to witness such a horrifying scene and then do everything they can to help, only to feel the weight of the outcome afterward. I hope those who were there are finding the support they need to process everything they went through. Alvarado’s family should be proud of the community that stood by him in those moments, even amidst chaos and uncertainty.
