Hey everyone,
I just can't stop thinking about how the location of this tragic event might have played a role in the whole situation. I've been reading that the shooting took place near a busy shopping center at Dysart Road and Coldwater Plaza North. This raises a lot of questions about the choice of the spot and what was happening around that area when James was tragically shot.
Was it a random location, or did it have some kind of significance to James or even to Gabriel Gutierrez? I feel like the hustle and bustle of a shopping center could either provide cover in a twisted sense or make it riskier because of all the potential witnesses and cameras around. It’s just so baffling trying to piece this together.
Also, knowing how many people frequent places like these on weekends, you have to wonder about the added trauma to those who might have witnessed the incident. It’s incredibly sad to think about how many lives were indirectly affected by this awful event.
Thinking of James’s family and community today and hoping for some form of justice and peace for them all.

People out running errands, grabbing groceries, and suddenly thrust into a dire situation. It’s unsettling to think this all happened on what should have been a normal day. James Matthew Archuleta, III should be remembered as more than just a victim in a news article—he was a young man with dreams and a community that loved him. My thoughts go out to everyone who was there that day, especially James’ family and friends. It's a reminder of how precious and fragile life truly is.
