I came across some information on Robert Alkire’s disappearance, and there's something that's been on my mind. Why did it take nearly nine months for his case to be reported to the Bureau of Indian Affairs? I can't help but wonder if the delay was due to a lack of communication between agencies or if it was connected to his status living between the reservation and Lander, Wyoming. It's frustrating thinking about how crucial those first days and weeks are in a missing person case, and we're essentially working in the dark for a whole stretch of time. Has anyone else noticed this pattern in other cases involving tribal jurisdictions? This case needs more attention to prevent these kinds of delays from repeating.
