I recently came across Quenton Gammage's memorial entry, and it really got me thinking about the power of community remembrance. It's clear that Quenton was loved, given how his story has been shared and preserved. His photo on the National Gun Violence Memorial speaks to his presence and the impact he had during his life. Even though I didn't know Quenton personally, seeing his picture there made me pause. It’s a hauntingly beautiful way to ensure that his life isn’t just reduced to another statistic. I can’t help but wonder how his loved ones are coping with such a significant loss. It’s heart-rending to think about the gap he must’ve left in their lives. If anyone knows more about how the community in Tolleson has come together or any initiatives started in his memory, I'd love to hear more. Sharing these stories can sometimes bring a sliver of comfort and keep the conversation about preventing such tragedies alive.
