In the pre-dawn hours of Sunday, October 3, 1993, Abdullah Rastafa Coghill was shot and killed at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Kenyon Street NW in Washington, D.C. The Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch opened the investigation and later included his death among the district’s unsolved killings from the 1990s.
A reward bulletin for up to $25,000 was issued for information leading to an arrest and conviction, and the department has continued to publish notices and solicit anonymous tips by phone or text. Decades later his name remains on the city’s unsolved homicide list and no arrests or suspects have been publicly reported.
If anyone remembers events or people in the Georgia Avenue and Kenyon Street area around October 3, 1993, please share what you know with investigators or submit an anonymous tip.
