Hey everyone, I've been following Alevia Hewing's case, and something that's been on my mind is the role technology played in her last known communication. We know that Alevia's mom received a text from her through some third-party app on the day she went missing. I'm curious if any of you have thoughts on how such platforms could complicate missing persons investigations—or potentially aid them? From what I gather, apps that allow for anonymous or disposable communications could make it a lot harder for loved ones and investigators to trace someone’s digital footprint. On the flip side, could these apps also offer some sort of digital trail if used strategically? I've heard of other cases where data from these apps helped law enforcement, but it seems like a double-edged sword in many ways. Just wondering what your insights are or if you've seen similar scenarios in other missing persons cases. Hope Alevia and her family are doing okay, and grateful she's been found safe.
