On January 20, 2000, 28-year-old Gina Latrice Gordon and 30-year-old John McKinley Boatwright were found fatally shot on the 1800 block of Gallaudet Street NE in Washington, D.C. Police responded to reports of gunfire about 7:05 p.m. and discovered both victims at the scene.
Detectives from the Homicide Branch investigated but compiled few leads and no motive was established. The double homicide remains unsolved and is now a cold case. No arrests have been announced and no suspects have been publicly identified. The Metropolitan Police Department is still seeking public help and is offering a substantial reward for information that could lead to an arrest and conviction.
Did anyone in the neighborhood that night see or hear anything that might help explain why these two people were targeted?
