I’ve been doing a lot of reading and something about Payton’s case stands out to me—the timing of the report. Being officially reported missing on the same day she was last seen, December 25th, suggests something urgent was felt by her family or whoever reported it. Why Christmas day? Was there a specific event that triggered this, or was there an immediate cause for concern that we’re not privy to? Family gatherings around the holidays make me wonder if she was supposed to be with someone specific that day who noticed her absence right away. Anybody have thoughts or similar cases where someone disappears during a holiday? It seems like such a difficult time with everyone distracted by festivities.
