Hey everyone, I’ve been following Nathan “Danny” Gabaldon’s case since it happened, and I can’t stop thinking about the location of the shooting. The area just south of the Lost Barrio shopping district always felt somewhat safe and vibrant to me, known for its unique shops and artisan vibe. It’s deeply unsettling to think that something so tragic happened in a place many of us associate with creativity and community. It makes you wonder how safe any of our favorite spots really are and what we can do to protect and reclaim these spaces for our communities. My heart goes out to Nathan’s family and everyone who frequents that area. If anyone has thoughts or experiences from the midtown area — or if you’ve noticed any changes since the incident — I’d love to hear them. Stay safe, everyone.
