Hey everyone, I've been following the tragic case of Raymond Ruiz and have been thinking a lot about the aspect of friendships and trust. It's just so devastating to think that Raymond and Cody Meier were close friends since childhood. It must be incredibly hard for Raymond's family to process this loss, especially knowing that someone he trusted was involved, even if unintentionally. From what I understand, Cody's version of events was initially that it was an accident while cleaning his gun. But with Angel admitting to handling the rifle, it's just one of those situations where it seems like a web of poor decisions, but that doesn't lessen the huge loss of life here. I wonder what kind of impact this will have on Meier, knowing he lost a friend and is now implicated in his death. I've seen the family is organizing a vigil and a GoFundMe. I can't imagine the weight they're carrying right now—losing a son in such a sudden, senseless way, and dealing with the legal system on top of that. They can really use all the support and kindness from the community. Keeping Raymond's loved ones in my thoughts. If anyone here is local or knows how we can support the vigil or fundraiser, please share.
