Did anyone else find themselves reflecting on the community’s role in events like Damien's tragic death? Reading through everything, I've been thinking a lot about how isolated and chaotic parties can become, especially for young people. It seems like there might have been a lot of tension that night, and it's haunting to consider if it could have been de-escalated somehow. I'm really not trying to blame anyone but rather look into what we can learn to prevent similar tragedies. It's vital for communities, especially those with young people, to have open dialogues about conflict resolution and the severe consequences that arise from impulsive actions. Damien should have been having a normal night with friends, not losing his life over something that likely seemed trivial at the time. My heart goes out to Heidi and the entire family; I can't imagine the depth of their pain or how they cope with such a loss.

I've been thinking about the witness testimonies that came out during the trial of Damien Brave's case. It's so concerning how many people were at that party and how things escalated so quickly over something as trivial as a bag. It makes you wonder how a harmless gathering can turn into such a tragedy in the blink of an eye. I can't imagine the trauma for those who saw it unfold and the lasting impact on everyone involved. Damien had his whole life ahead of him, and it's devastating that a moment's violence changed everything. Just hoping this raises more awareness to help prevent something like this from happening again. Thinking of Damien's family and all those who loved him.
