Just came across the case of Lavone Kennedy, aka "Head-Mo," and it's really stuck with me. I can’t imagine the pain his family has been living with all these years, not knowing who did this to him or why. It’s sad how some cases just slip through the cracks.
I was thinking about how important community involvement is in these investigations. The MPD has been urging people to come forward, and it seems like even minor details could make a big difference. Given that the reward is $25,000, it’s surprising that there haven’t been any solid tips yet.
Sometimes people are scared to talk, thinking they know something insignificant, but all it might take to blow a case wide open is that one piece of info. If anyone was in the area back then or knows someone who might remember something, it could make all the difference for Lavone’s loved ones. Let’s hope someone finds the courage to speak up, even after all these years.
Hi all,
I’ve been reading through the threads here, and something about Lavone Kennedy’s case keeps sticking with me. It's been so many years, and I can’t imagine the pain and frustration his family must feel, not having answers yet. I was wondering if anyone has more information about the area around the 3800 block of 9th Street, SE during that time? Was this a place where people gathered often, or was there something specific about it that would bring someone there late at night? Understanding the context might help us understand why this happened there.
It's so important for us to help keep this case alive in any way we can. Even small things can lead to bigger insights, so I hope someone out there has even the tiniest piece of information that could make a difference. Let’s keep talking about Lavone and keep supporting his family through this.
Thanks for any insights you have!
T.
I recently came across the case of Lavone Kennedy, and it honestly makes me think about how many people might have seen or heard something that morning but didn't realize its significance. It’s been over two decades, but sometimes all it takes is a tiny piece of information to crack a case wide open. It’s frustrating to think that someone out there might hold the key to answers. I urge anyone who might have been near 9th Street SE in those early morning hours, maybe walking a dog or driving to an early shift, to reflect back. A sound, a face, anything unusual—you never know how it could fit into the bigger puzzle. It must be so difficult for Lavone’s family and friends to have lived so long without closure. I really hope someone steps forward soon.
