I’ve been thinking a lot about the area where Renita’s body was discovered – near Route 13. For those of us familiar with the stretch of highway, it’s unsettling to imagine something so tragic happening so close to home. While the conviction brought some relief, I can’t help but wonder if anyone else noticed something suspicious around that time but didn’t come forward. It’s a busy route with lots of traffic and people commuting between towns. Maybe someone driving that day saw an unusual vehicle parked or someone walking along the road in a way that seemed out of place. In cases like this, it’s often the smallest details that get overlooked or forgotten. It’s a painful reminder that things like this can happen anywhere and how important it is to be vigilant in our communities. My thoughts are with Renita’s family, who have had to live with this tragedy. They deserve all the support and kindness we can give, even all these years later.
