I've been following this case for a while, and something that really stands out to me is Victoria Ashton Johnson's DUI arrest from just a few months before the hit-and-run. It's mind-blowing to think that she could be on the roads again so soon after such a serious offense. How is it possible for someone with a recent DUI to have access to a vehicle, especially if their license is revoked or suspended? It makes me wonder about the system's effectiveness in preventing repeat offenses. If Johnson had been off the roads like she was supposed to be, this tragedy might have been avoided.
