I was reading about the wrongful death lawsuit the Greene family filed against Rory Holland, and it’s been on my mind all day. The strength it must have taken for them to pursue this case is incredible. Losing not one, but two sons in such a senseless act is unimaginable. Seeing the court award them $2.4 million might offer some justice, but no amount of money can truly account for the loss they’ve endured. I can't help but think about the siblings' potential lifetime earnings and how they had their whole lives ahead of them. This tragedy is a grim reminder of how quickly lives can change due to violence and how important it is for communities to come together to seek justice and healing. My thoughts are with the Greene family as they continue dealing with this profound loss.
I recently read about the Greene brothers' tragic case and noticed something during the trial that really struck a chord. Witnesses said that after Gage was shot, Derek rushed to help him before he was also fatally shot. It just makes you think about the depths of brotherly love and the instinct to protect our loved ones, even in the most dangerous situations. Derek's bravery in those final moments is incredibly touching and devastating; no one should have to face such a terrifying reality. My heart goes out to the family who not only lost their sons but had to relive the pain during the trial and the years following. It’s a stark reminder of the pain violent acts inflict on families and communities. Does anyone know how the community in Biddeford has supported the Greene family since? I hope they’ve surrounded them with the love and support they deserve.
