I’ve been thinking a lot about the rare use of a hunting rifle in the terrible tragedy involving Freda and Mike Lagarde. It’s unsettling to consider why someone would choose that particular weapon for such intimate violence. Hunting rifles aren't typically associated with crimes like this, so does anyone know if Mike had a history of using firearms? Maybe for hunting or just as a hobby? I can’t help but wonder if this might have been a contributing factor, or was it simply a weapon of opportunity?
Regardless, it’s a chilling reminder that the presence of guns in a household can escalate a situation in the worst possible way. I hope that Freda’s family finds some piece of mind amidst such a difficult time. My heart goes out to her daughter, having to grapple with finding them like that. Please, everyone, if you see signs of trouble in a relationship, take them seriously and reach out for help if you can.
Has anyone else been digging into the history of Tanglewood Mobile Estates? It's chilling to think how such a close-knit community got rocked by this tragedy. It's genuinely hard to comprehend how someone could reach such a breaking point. Not to mention, neighbors mentioned hearing gunshots on two different days, which is baffling. Could there have been some kind of altercation that started the night before? I keep thinking about Freda's daughter discovering the scene; the trauma of that is unfathomable. My thoughts are with her and anyone else affected by this. If anyone has more insight into what the couple might have been experiencing leading up to this, please share. Understanding their story might help prevent future tragedies.
