Hey everyone, I've been following Alexander Magadan Pineda-Vega's case and something caught my attention. I noticed that his disappearance coincides with Hurricane Ida, which swept through the region around the same time. Do you think there's any possibility that the storm might have played a role in his vanishing? Considering he was working at a local business, is it possible he went to check on something work-related during or after the storm? I just thought it was worth considering given the timing. If anyone has thoughts on this or other theories, please share. It’s just strange how there’s been absolutely no trace of him since then. ?️?

He is my brother in law and his job at the time was working with a family member in construction. they where in Louisiana for some time just for work related and was supposed to come back to Houston which is where Alexander originally is from, but according to the family member he said Alexander stayed in Louisiana to help someone else (which supposedly was an elderly person) in there home. We are not close to this family member who last saw him and there is only so little he has told us. That’s about as much as we know. It’s been 4 years and absolutely no sign of him.

How frustrating for you and your family. I am just going to post it here to try and help. If you’re looking for updates or more information on the disappearance of Alexander (last seen September 1, 2021, in LaPlace, Louisiana), the investigating agency listed publicly is the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office. Their contact number is (985) 652-6338.

When you call, say you are a family member (or calling on behalf of the family) and ask to speak with the detective/investigator assigned to Alexander’s missing person case. It can help to reference the identifiers shown in Louisiana’s public missing-person listing (FACES #1165 and case number shown as I22009737) and ask whether those match their records.

If you’re told they can’t share details immediately, ask what the best next step is for family: whether a release form is needed, whether there is an email address for sending photos or important documents, and whether the case has a NamUs entry (and if so, what the NamUs number is). If you reach a general line, request to be transferred to the Sheriff’s Office division that handles missing persons and ask for a callback from the assigned investigator.

I came across Alexander's case the other day, and something that's been on my mind is the role of the community in cases like this. LaPlace isn't a huge city, so you’d think people might have heard or seen something by now. It's been over two years, and the silence is deafening. I know not everyone is comfortable speaking up, but even the smallest detail could be crucial. I wonder if any local events or gatherings have been organized to keep his story in the public eye and to encourage anyone with information to come forward. Community involvement can be really powerful, and I hope the locals are still actively trying to help bring Alexander home.
