In reading about Special Deputy Edmund Trudeau's tragic death, I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of sorrow for his family and the community that lost not just a lawman but one of their own. What caught my attention in this case was the sheer audacity of Herman Parsons returning with a Winchester rifle. It's terrifying to think that someone could harbor such anger and resort to such violence over being ejected from a dance. It's a stark reminder of how quickly things can escalate, and how dangerous situations can become in the blink of an eye. I can only imagine the fear and chaos that must have erupted outside John F. Delany's store during what should have been a festive Valentine's Day celebration. Trudeau was just doing his duty, trying to ensure a safe environment for everyone attending the dance. To think that his life was cut short for such a senseless reason is truly upsetting. My heart goes out to Trudeau's family and the Lolo community, who had to pick up the pieces after such a devastating loss. It's so crucial for us to remember and honor those who put themselves at risk to protect others. Deputy Trudeau's bravery and sense of duty will not be forgotten.
