Monica Minette Olson, 44, was found dead at a home on the south side of Plentywood, Montana, on January 26, 2010. A longtime USPS letter carrier of more than 24 years and a mother to two daughters and two stepdaughters, Monica was described as loyal, generous, and devoted to volunteering and animals.
A neighbor, drawn by a dog’s persistent barking, discovered Monica and 52-year-old Michael Lodahl deceased that Tuesday night. The Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office determined the incident to be a murder-suicide: Monica died from a single gunshot wound, and Lodahl’s death was ruled a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities said the two knew each other but were not married; further details about their relationship were not released.
Monica’s family later filed a lawsuit against Lodahl’s estate. Who in Plentywood might have information about Monica’s last evening or her connection to Lodahl?
