On June 27, 2015, four-year-old Summer Miller of Saint Marie, Montana, died after an accidental shooting. Law enforcement’s inquiry concluded the child’s death resulted from an unintentional discharge of a firearm. No arrests were made and no suspects were identified because officials determined the incident was a non-criminal accident.

The small community and the family were left to cope with the sudden loss rather than a criminal case.
