Casey Jess Anderson, 32, was found dead inside a camper in the 1300 block of East River Road near Emigrant, in the Pray, Montana area, on September 19, 2022. The Park County Sheriff’s Office reported he had sustained what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

The investigation identified a suspect, 20-year-old Kadin Hawkeye Lewis, who was arrested and charged with deliberate homicide. Charging documents allege Lewis confessed to a family member, admitting use of a firearm and to burning clothing stained with the victim’s blood. Lewis appeared in Park County Justice Court with bail set at $1 million.

Anderson, originally from Brigham City, Utah, had moved to Montana and worked at several tire centers in the Bozeman area. He was remembered for a passion for vehicles and a gentle heart; he is survived by his father and siblings.
