I’ve been following the Shane Ellison case and something about the situation just doesn’t sit right with me. How can someone hand off a revolver, knowing there’s still a bullet in their hand, and not check to ensure it’s absolutely safe? I was reading about how Ball left the cartridges in his hand and yet Shane ended up with one in the cylinder after spinning it. It makes me think about the responsibility people have when handling or even passing guns around, even more when games like Russian roulette are involved. Shane’s friends and family must be in unimaginable pain trying to make sense of this tragedy. I can't even begin to imagine what they’re going through. It’s just so senseless that a supposed game could have led to this - all because of a moment of negligence. Shane was known for being adventurous, but this was anything but thrilling; it was reckless and cost a life. I really hope this case serves as a wake-up call about the importance of gun safety and the real risks of such so-called games. My heart goes out to everyone affected.
