Just came across the tragic case of Myles Lawley and his mother, Elizabeth, and I can't help but feel a profound sense of sadness for the entire Wallace community and those who knew the family. Even just reading about what happened on King Street, it's clear that this event has left a scar that will take a long time to heal. One thing I noticed is the immense weight this has placed on the first responders, especially Sheriff Holly Lindsey's team. She mentioned how, in nearly two decades, nothing had ever hit them this hard. I can only imagine how painful it must be for them to encounter such a scene and then carry that with them. It's important to remember the burden on these officers who have to navigate the aftermath of such overwhelming situations while still performing their duties. I truly hope the department has access to resources for mental health and PTSD, as these events can take a toll over time. We should also be reaching out to support one another as a community during this trying time. Sharing our grief may not take away the pain, but it can remind us that we're not alone, and together, we can start to heal.
