I was reading about the Colebrook shootings again, and something that caught my attention was how quickly things escalated. It's chilling to think about how a simple traffic stop, which these officers do countless times a day, could turn into such a nightmare. Scott Phillips was just doing his job, probably thinking about getting home after his shift or making plans for the weekend, and then everything changed in an instant. It's hard not to think about the fear and confusion both he and Trooper Leslie Lord must have felt as things unfolded. I can't imagine how their families processed this terrifying news, losing two loved ones to such senseless violence. It really underscores the unpredictable nature of police work and the bravery it takes to step into that line of duty. We should always remember and honor the sacrifices these officers make, and keep their families in our thoughts.

I came across some info while looking into the Colebrook tragedy that really stuck with me. Did anyone else hear about how Scott Phillips was known for being incredibly kind and dedicated not just to his job, but to the community he served? I read that he had a kind of sixth sense for checking in on folks he passed, like he genuinely cared about everyone's well-being. It’s heartbreaking to think about the loss of someone with such a big heart and commitment to others. I can only imagine how tough this has been for his family and colleagues. Thinking of all the brave officers who face such immense risks daily, and hoping they find some comfort in how deeply Scott impacted those around him. If anyone knew him personally, it would be comforting to hear more about the good he brought into the world.
