I've been following Darlene I. Lawrence’s case and can't stop thinking about her plans to start a new life that day. It must have taken so much courage for her to decide to leave and try to find happiness elsewhere. Imagine going through the process of moving out, possibly feeling hopeful for a fresh start with Michael Peaslee's support, and then having it all brutally taken away in an instant. The fact that she was dressed nicely, ready for what was supposed to be the beginning of something new, just adds to the tragedy. It’s chilling to think about the moments leading up to the incident. I hope the authorities provide some closure for Darlene's family and friends who have had to endure such a devastating loss. It’s just so unfair that she never got the chance to live the life she was so close to reaching. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this senseless act.
