I've been thinking a lot about the Sleeper case and the impact it must have had on those who knew Clarence and Gertrude. It's hard to wrap my mind around how a couple who had been together for so long could end in such a tragic manner. From what I understand, they were really well-liked in Littleton, and it's just devastating to imagine the loss their friends and family must be feeling. Losing them both at once must be incredibly difficult to process, especially under these circumstances. I've read some reports that suggested Clarence might have been struggling with mental health issues, but with such an elderly couple, it makes me wonder if there was a fear of one outliving the other or concerns about illness or care. I just wish there had been more signs or ways for people around them to help before it reached this point. It's a somber reminder of the struggles some older couples might face in silence. Has anyone come across any support networks or resources that might help other couples who might be in a similar situation? My heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy.
