I recently came across Jorge Gonzalez Colon’s case, and I've been thinking about his family a lot. I can’t begin to imagine the pain they’ve been going through since that tragic day. What's really sticking with me is the randomness of it all. Jorge was just doing his job, probably thinking about dinner plans or what he was going to do with his family later on. He didn’t know that that would be his last day. The situation must be devastating for his loved ones, losing someone so suddenly in such a senseless way. It feels like he just got caught up in something he had nothing to do with, just at the wrong place, wrong time. For the community, it’s another reminder of how gun violence can touch anyone’s life without warning. While it's somewhat reassuring that Hernandez Rosado has been held accountable, it doesn't change the reality for Jorge's family and friends. They’re left with a gap that can never truly be filled. This case really makes you reflect on the fragility of life and how innocent bystanders can find themselves in the crossfire. Sending thoughts to his family and hoping they find some peace over time. ?
