I still can’t wrap my head around what happened with the Hoover family. I’ve seen a lot of people discussing the legal and financial aspects of the case, but what really gets to me is thinking about little Zachary. It’s just incredibly difficult to process that an 8-year-old with so much ahead of him could be caught in such a tragic situation. I remember hearing how he loved playing soccer in the local league and was always cheerful, lighting up the room with his smile. It’s hard to look past everything to see this as a wake-up call for us all to pay closer attention to the mental well-being of those around us. If only there had been a way for Stephanie to reach out or someone to notice her distress earlier. Maybe things could have been different. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved the Hoover family, especially the kids on Zachary’s team who must be struggling to understand why their friend isn’t at practice anymore.
