I'm just utterly shattered reading about the families affected by the Scotland, SD tragedy, particularly when thinking about Diane Akins's incredible strength and the legacy she left behind. To survive breast cancer and yet fall victim to such senseless violence is devastating. What really gets to me is how Diane is remembered as someone who cherished the simple joys—fishing, crafting, and camping with family. Those who knew her speak of this vibrant, loving woman who made everyone feel special in her presence. As a community, it's essential to come together in support of the families left behind. Diane's story, and that of all the victims, needs to be remembered not just for the horror they faced, but for the bright, loving individuals they were. My thoughts and prayers are with the Akins and Monclova families during this incredibly difficult time. Hug your loved ones a little tighter today, everyone. Life is so fragile.
