Has anyone else read about the incident where the gun was found at the party? It's so baffling to think how a night around a bonfire could turn so tragic in a matter of seconds. My heart truly goes out to all the families involved. I wonder if the handgun was registered to anyone who was at the party? It just seems odd that something like this could happen in a tight-knit community like Sioux Falls, especially since it’s been over five decades since a similar tragedy. It's just perplexing to wrap my head around what might have triggered such violence at what seemed like a regular get-together. Keep the families in your thoughts; they have a tough road ahead.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how Michael Andrew Thompson had a real knack for bringing people together. From what I’ve read and from what friends have shared, he seemed to have this infectious sense of humor that could lighten up any situation. It’s so tragic that someone who brought so much laughter into the world would have his life ended in such a senseless way. I'm sure his friends and family are absolutely devastated; it must be incredibly difficult. I don’t live in Sioux Falls, but I’ve visited a couple of times, and it’s got a small-town feel where everyone seems connected somehow. I wonder how the community is coping with this, especially since they haven't had a case like this in over 50 years. It’s not just the families feeling this loss; I imagine the whole area is mourning these tragic deaths. Has anyone heard about any community gatherings or memorials planned? It might be a good way for people to come together, remember the lives lost, and hopefully start the healing process. Sending love and good thoughts to everyone affected.
