I've been thinking a lot about the testimony given during the trial, especially by the neighbors who said they heard loud arguing coming from Alex and Arthur's place on the night of the shooting. It’s tough to imagine what must have transpired during those moments. It makes me wonder how it all escalated to such a tragic end. Many in the community mentioned that both Alex and Arthur were friends before this incident—what went so wrong? It's chilling to realize how a single moment can change everything in such a profound way. I really feel for Alex’s family. No one should have to endure the loss of a loved one under such violent circumstances. At the same time, Funk's life is forever changed too with this conviction, even if it was a lesser charge. It all makes me think about how we need more resources and support for addressing conflicts before they reach such a dangerous tipping point. Anyway, if anyone's interested, there’s a community group organizing a remembrance walk for Alex. It might be a good opportunity for healing and to bring more awareness to preventing similar tragedies in the future.
