I can't stop thinking about how deeply Kenny's murder must have shaken his tight-knit community. The guy was a small business owner, a veteran, and clearly much loved by those who knew him. I recently moved away from Minot, but I remember the Lamplighter Lounge being a staple in town. Hearing about the shooting there is just... surreal. I've read accounts of Kenny's kindness towards animals and kids. It's apparent he left a significant mark on those around him. How does a community even begin to heal from something like this? I hope his family finds some peace, and maybe this will spur more conversations about preventing gun violence in public spaces. It's just so sad all around.

I came across this case recently and it's really got me thinking about the safety of our communities. Kenny C Javar's murder outside the Lamplighter Lounge is such a terrible reminder of how quickly lives can be shattered by violence. I didn't know him personally, but from everything I've read, he seemed like a genuinely kind soul who was taken far too soon. It's so sad to hear how much his friends and family loved him and how much he's missed. What's particularly alarming is that this was the first of three similar incidents in Minot over just a few months. It's understandably causing a lot of worry about how safe public places really are these days. I'm hopeful that the sentence given to Justin Charles McDermott brings some sense of justice to Kenny's loved ones, although I know it can never truly ease the pain of losing him. We need to find ways to address this kind of violence and really think about how we can create safer spaces for our communities. It's a tough conversation, but one that feels more necessary than ever. Sending all my thoughts to Kenny’s family and friends during what must still be such a difficult time.
