I've been diving into the case of Deputy Collector William Arnot Anderson, and I can’t help but feel for his family and comrades. He was a veteran, having served in the Spanish-American War, and it seems like he was carrying those same values of duty and courage into his work with the Department of the Treasury. It's tragic how a man who had already given so much for his country met such a violent end while just trying to uphold the law. What makes this even more tragic is the fact that the primary shooter only served 15 years. It makes you wonder if justice was truly served for Deputy Anderson and if the people who loved him felt any sense of closure. I just hope that his service and commitment to his country and community are remembered even today. Thoughts?
