I’ve been diving deep into some local history, and I came across the case of F. Augusta "Gus" Kimberly. I'm trying to piece together more about the circumstances he faced during his last call on August 27, 1934. From what I understand, this was a tumultuous time for law enforcement, with officers like Gus Kimberly working under intense pressure and danger. It makes me wonder about the specific situations they encountered daily. Does anyone have more information about crime trends or notable events in Calhoun County around that period? Also, if anyone has personal anecdotes or family stories about Officer Kimberly or the Piedmont Police Department back then, I’d love to hear them. It's important we remember the day-to-day realities these officers faced as we honor their sacrifices. Sending thoughts to his family and those who continue to hold his memory dear.
