I was thinking about Lisa Ann Millican's case today and how much the Fort Payne community pulled together during her disappearance. It's not something you see as often now, but back in 1982, when Lisa first went missing, nearly everyone seemed to join the search efforts. I remember hearing stories about how neighbors, friends, and even folks who didn’t know her personally all stepped up, tirelessly searching those dense woods and putting up flyers everywhere. It's such a testament to the power of a close-knit community trying to protect one of its own. It’s heartbreaking that the search ended in such tragedy, but the unity and support everyone showed is something I'll always remember. I can't even begin to imagine the loss her family feels. Does anyone else have memories of the search efforts back then or know how the community has healed since?
