Hey everyone,
I've been following the Rutledge case for a while now, and I can't stop thinking about the young lives lost that day. What really gets to me is the future that Jerry, Tony, and John Ball never got to experience. They were just teenagers, with so much ahead of them—adventures, dreams, and so many possibilities that we often take for granted. I can't even begin to understand the pain their friends and family must be going through. To have their worlds shattered in an instant like that is unimaginable. It makes me wonder about the community and how they've coped since; how do you move forward from something so devastating?
I hope there's been some sort of support for them, although no amount of comfort can replace the loss. Just reminds me of how important it is to cherish every moment with our loved ones. If anyone knows more about the community support efforts or remembers the memorial service, I'd love to hear about it. It's times like these that bring out both the worst and the best in humanity.
Stay safe, everyone. Hug your loved ones extra tight tonight.

I keep thinking about the impact that Westley Harris's actions must have had on Janice Denise Ball. At just 16, she not only lost her entire family but also had to come to terms with the fact that the person responsible was her husband. I can’t even imagine the level of trauma and guilt she might be experiencing, questioning if there were any signs she missed or if there was any way she could have stopped it. The emotional aftermath for her is probably just as devastating as the loss itself. Does anyone know how she’s doing now? Has she been able to find any form of support or peace after such an unimaginable ordeal? It's heart-wrenching to think of someone so young enduring this kind of tragedy. My thoughts and prayers are definitely with her and the rest of the community in Rutledge as they continue to heal.

Over the years, I've spent quite some time trying to understand incidents like the Rutledge shooting, especially in tight-knit communities where everyone seems to know each other. It's particularly puzzling and distressing. I'm reading about how Janice Denise Ball was so young, only 16, and married to Harris. That's such a critical age, and I can't help but wonder about the dynamics of their relationship. What were the influences on Janice and Westley leading up to this? Being 16 and in what seems like a complicated family setup - was there any evidence or mention of Janice attempting to distance herself from Harris? I haven’t come across much about her perspective. This tragedy must have left her completely devastated. I hope she's found some kind of support network over the years. Thinking about those affected makes my heart go out to any friends or family who are still grappling with this unimaginable loss. If anyone has come across more details on Janice's life after the incident, I’d appreciate learning about it. It’s important to keep these memories alive, not just the horrific act but the lives around it.
