Melvin Edward Watson was fatally shot on the evening of August 22, 2007, in Washington, D.C. The shooting occurred at about 8:53 p.m. in front of 1701 Benning Road NE. The Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crimes Branch is investigating the incident as a homicide.

Authorities have not announced any arrests or released information about suspects. A reward of up to $25,000 has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.
