Hey everyone, I've been following the tragic case of Leroy Yarbrough and couldn't stop thinking about the community's struggle to get witnesses to come forward. It's so sad to see this happen time and again, where people are too scared to speak up because of fear of retaliation or mistrust. It's understandable given the situation, but without their voices, it's like Leroy and others like him don't get the justice they deserve. I hope community leaders and law enforcement can find a way to bridge this gap and support those who are willing to help. Building trust is key, but it's such a complicated problem. Does anyone here knows if there have been any successful initiatives elsewhere that Birmingham could learn from? This whole situation is a terrible reminder of the work needed to stop the cycle of violence. Remembering those who’ve lost their lives is important, but we need real action too.
