Has anyone else been bothered by the fact that so much of the physical evidence from 1982 in Stephen E. Smith’s case was lost? I know it was a long time ago, but it just troubles me how evidence can disappear like that, and it makes you wonder if the case might've turned out differently if those pieces had been preserved. It seems like such a crucial aspect of the investigation, especially considering the circumstances surrounding the abandoned car and the blood found at his home. It's just unsettling to think about potentially critical evidence being mishandled or misplaced over the years, particularly when someone’s life and justice are at stake. Anyone have insights on how lost evidence could have affected the trial's outcome, or maybe why this might happen?
